Know more about hsCRP-High Sensitive CRP test

A high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) test helps to evaluate an individual for the risk of cardiovascular disease (CVD). Besides the test also diagnose if there is any infection or chronic inflammatory diseases like rheumatoid arthritis and lupus.

The symptoms associated with cardiovascular disease are:

Heaviness, or pain in the chest, arm, or below the breastbone.

C-reactive protein is also known as CRP. It is produced in the liver. This protein increases in the blood when there are infection and inflammation. Due to which it results in the blood pressure. Thus this test helps to check the total content of C-reactive protein in the blood and helps to identify the low level of CRP with persistent inflammation.

Inflammation plays a role in narrowing down the blood vessels which results in deposits of cholesterol and lipids. All of these results in causing cardiovascular disease.

It is also important to note that this test not to identify a particular heart d9isease but specifically for any inflammation in the body that is resulting in other health problems.

You will be advised to fast for 10-12 hours before going in for the test. if you are suffering from weakness at the time of the test, you should restrain yourself from going in for the blood test. It might be good for your health.

The treatment prescribed for coronary heart disease (CHD) usually is the same for both women and men. The doctor will recommend lifestyle changes, medicines, medical and surgical procedures, and cardiac rehabilitation (rehab) depending on your test results and your medical history.

Making lifestyle changes will help to prevent or treat CHD.

Besides, quit Smoking and you follow a healthy routine. Because smoking can raise your risk for CHD and heart attack and worsen other CHD risk factors.

Test Method 1: A blood sample will be collected from a vein of your arm.

Report available: Turn around time is 24 hours.

When your doctor suspects you of suffering from any inflammation or infection that may lead to heart diseases, you will be prescribed to take this test.
